Raz-Kids is a supplemental reading program used by Kindergarten through third grade students at Eagle Cliffs. The program is a wonderful tool used online with students at home and at school. Raz-Kids can be used on various devices including: iphones, ipads, Kindle Fires, laptops, and others. Students work at their individual reading level and use a number of reading genres to complete their goal. Children listen to stories, read stories silently, and take short quizzes to check for comprehension. When students successfully read and pass all quizzes, they move onto to the next level. Readers also earn stars to build robots as they pass quizzes. Teachers and parents can check student progress on the Raz-Kids site. The true bonus is watching students enjoy reading and challenging themselves as they move throughout their reading level. We have seen much reading growth with students at our school who are using Raz-Kids as a regular reading tool.
Great news! Not only do the students and teachers love using RazKids but the parents also showed their overwhelming support. At the beginning of March, our kindergarten through second grades had a read-a-thon to raise money to renew all our subscriptions. The students read like crazy! We are so proud. And, our parents were so generous and supportive of our efforts. Every classroom kindergarten through third grade will have access to RazKids. Here is a quick video of the results from our read-a-thon.
